Director Julio Torres: Working with Tilda Swinton was full of surprises!”
First of all, her voice and accent. The character was originally written as an American, and Tilda had been trying to find a way to voice her like a machine gun, and it was forwarded to me, and the way she spoke became messy and imprecise. Tildas Elizabeth talks very intensely. She talks too much, too fast, in contrast to Tildas natural way of speaking, and what we both like about that accent is that its an outsider everywhere, not just because shes British, but you think she wouldnt fit in in London either. It was a lot of fun working together.”
