別名「茜茜」的奧地利女皇伊利沙伯被譽為歐洲最美麗的貴族，但可惜天妒紅顏，其一生遭遇許多不幸。大女兒蘇菲兩歲夭折，唯一的兒子自殺，導致皇室繼任危機，茜茜深陷苦海。《茜茜與我》從女皇的女侍臣愛瑪的角度出發，探討她與女皇亦僕亦暗戀者的關係。茜茜是時代的叛逆者，不能忍受皇室的壓迫，遠走希臘、北非及英國，但最終未能逃脫命運。導演馮琪芬絲塔華達以輕巧唯美的筆觸描繪茜茜與愛瑪的情感，效果細膩動人。
Irma Countess von Sztáray faces challenges as she becomes Empress Elisabeths lady-in-waiting. She gets a bloody nose from her strict mother, endures grueling exercises, and a cocaine extract diet before meeting the erratic empress. Despite harsh treatments and diets, they grow close within Sisi’s limits. Returning to Vienna, their lives change drastically. Frauke Finsterwalder’s reinterpretation of the Sisi myth stars Susanne Wolff and Sandra Hüller, with stunning costumes by Tanja Hausner and a soundtrack by Nico, Portishead, and Le Tigre. The film explores a female-dominated world with queer maids and the gay Archduke Viktor.
