🪞 關於《看我今天怎麼說》的故事靈感
黃修平導演：我在 2013 年的《狂舞派》描述了一位截肢舞者，這劇情當時被譽為「傷健共融」，因而讓我認識到一班聾人舞者。五年前，我透過一個編劇朋友撰寫的故事，再次接觸到聾人文化。我問那位編劇，要是有種科技讓聾人馬上變健聽，他們是否毫不稀罕？編劇無庸置疑地點頭，讓我相當衝擊；《看我今天怎麼說》便是以那位編劇的故事為基礎。這幾年來，為了寫好劇本，我一直投身在聾人文化當中，除了觀看聾人表演和研究文本，我亦訪談逾50位聾人、相關人士、社工和學者。

Told through the lens of three deaf adults in their twenties, The Way We Talk follows Sophie (Chung Suet Ying), who is optimistic and strives to be seen as ‘normal’; Wolf (Neo Yau), who embraces his deafness; and Alan (Marco Ng), who seems more at ease as a member of mainstream society. Despite their differing perspectives, the three friends develop a deep bond through sign language, supporting each other through life’s ups and downs. Living on the fringes of a hypocritical and often hostile society, can the three friends be their true selves, overcome the sound barrier, and use sign language to express their feelings?
